Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY positioned London Heathrow – London Gatwick as VS808P this morning after arriving as VS22 from Washington. The aircraft then operated VS31 London Gatwick – Saint Lucia before returning operating yesterday’s delayed VS90 Saint Lucia – London Gatwick sector.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Operates Delayed Delhi Service.

Following the return to stand of yesterday’s VS300 London Heathrow – Delhi yesterday evening, the delayed flight was operated this afternoon as VS300D by Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY. The aircraft will then operate today’s delayed VS301 Delhi – London Heathrow early tomorrow morning as VS301D.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Positioning Flight.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY positioned London Gatwick – Manchester as VS807P late this morning after arriving as VS90 from Grenada and St Lucia. The aircraft then operated the delayed VS109 Manchester – Atlanta.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY St Lucia Flight Switch.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY operated VS83 London Gatwick – Antigua – St Lucia this morning then turned around to operate yesterday’s delayed VS90 St Lucia – London Gatwick sector as VS90A. As a result today’s VS84 was cancelled.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Returns from Xiamen Maintenance.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY, which has been under maintenance at Xiamen since 10th January, positioned Xiamen – London Heathrow this morning as VS810P. It is now that this is the first A330-300 to be reconfigured to 31J/48W/185Y with 1-1-1 Dreamliner style seating in Business Class.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Positioning Flight.

Following its diversion yesterday, Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY positioning Birmingham, Alabama – Atlanta this afternoon as VS115P, then operated yesterday’s delayed VS114 Atlanta – London Heathrow as VS114A.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY VS115 Birmingham Diversion.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY operating VS115 London Heathrow – Atlanta diverted to Birmingham, Alabama this afternoon due to weather at Atlanta. The aircraft will overnight at Birmingham meaning VS114 Atlanta – London Heathrow has been delayed overnight.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Manchester Foam Fiasco.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY arrived into Manchester this morning operating the inaugural VS110 Atlanta – Manchester service and was given a water cannon salute by the fire brigade. Unfortunately the water cannon salute was a foam cannon salute and foam was ingested into the #2 engine. As a result the aircraft requires inspections which mean today’s VS109 Manchester – Atlanta has been delayed overnight.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Returns to Service.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY returned to service this evening as VS9 London Heathrow – New York JFK. This was the aircraft’s first passenger service since encountering a technical issue at New York JFK on 11th October.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY New York JFK Technical Issue.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY overnighted at New York JFK after arriving as VS25 from London Heathrow yesterday, however this morning’s scheduled VS26 New York JFK – London Heathrow was cancelled indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Returns from Zurich Maintenance.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY, which has been under maintenance at Zurich since 9th September, positioned Zurich – London Heathrow as VS822P this afternoon. The aircraft has been reconfigured from 59W/255Y to 33J/48W/185Y. The aircraft then operated its first service in this new configuration as VS25 London Heathrow – New York JFK.

A330-300 G-VWAG Operates Accra Rotation.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VWAG operated the VS657/VS658 London Heathrow – Accra rotation this evening. This is the first use of a Three Class A330-300 on the route, although Gatwick based Two Class sister G-VSXY was drafted in to operate the route on 26th June 2012.

A330-300 G-VSXY Positions to Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY positioned London Gatwick – Orlando this morning as VS987P and will return on behalf on Monarch Airlines as VS9988.

Glasgow – Orlando Returns to A330-300 Operation.

Having been operated by an A340-600 last week and by Boeing 747-400s for some weeks prior to that the weekend VS71/VS72 Glasgow – Orlando rotations returned to Airbus A330-300 operation this weekend with G-VKSS positioning from London Gatwick as VS71P to operate the outbound VS71 with sister G-VSXY scheduled to operate the return VS72 after the aircraft are swapped at Orlando.

A330-300 G-VSXY Returns to Gatwick.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY operated VS658 Accra – London Heathrow overnight then immediately positioned London Heathrow – London Gatwick as VS808P.

A330-300 G-VSXY Operates Heathrow – Accra.

Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY positioned London Gatwick – London Heathrow this evening as VS807P in order to operate London Heathrow – Accra as VS657X. This operation was caused by A340-300 G-VELD being delayed overnight at Delhi.

Virgin Atlantic A330-300 G-VSXY Back In The Air.

Following its emergency landing at London Gatwick on 16th April Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY returned to the air this evening positioning London Gatwick – Manchester as VS75P. The aircraft will return to service tomorrow as VS75 Manchester – Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic A340-600 G-VMEG Positions London Heathrow – Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic Airbus A340-600 G-VMEG positioned London Heathrow – Orlando this evening as VS809P in order to help clear the backlog of passengers at Orlando following Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY’s emergency landing at London Gatwick yesterday and subsequent flight cancellations. The aircraft will operate Orlando – London Gatwick tomorrow morning as VS28W.

Orlando Cancellations Follow VS27 Incident.

Following yesterday’s emergency landing at London Gatwick by Virgin Atlantic Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY the aircraft remains out of service and therefore today’s VS27/VS28 London Gatwick – Orlando rotation has been cancelled.

A330-300 G-VSXY VS27 Gatwick Emergency Return.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY operating VS27 London Gatwick – Orlando returned to London Gatwick for an emergency landing due to smoke in the cabin. Passengers were evacuated via emergency slides on the runway. Fifteen passengers required hospital treatment all from injuries sustained during the evacuation. Gatwick Airport was closed for just over an hour whilst the aircraft was recovered from the runway.

As a result of the incident the return VS28 Orlando – London Gatwick was cancelled.

G-VLIP Returns to Service.

Boeing 747-443 G-VLIP returned to service following yesterday’s technical issue operating today’s scheduled VS73 Manchester – Orlando. This means there were three Manchester – Orlando flights today:

Boeing 747-443 G-VLIP as VS73

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY as VS75

Airbus A330-300 G-VKSS as VS73A. This was yesterday’s VS73 delayed by the G-VLIP technical issue.

G-VSXY Glasgow – London Gatwick Positioning Flight.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY positioned Glasgow – London Gatwick this morning as VS72P following its arrival into Glasgow as VS72 from Orlando.

For the next few weeks the Glasgow – Orlando operation will see an Airbus A330-200 position London Gatwick – Glasgow early on Saturday as VS71P. VS71/VS72 Glasgow – Orlando rotations will operate on Saturday and Sunday and then a further positioning flight Glasgow – London Gatwick takes place early on Monday morning.

The operating VS71 Glasgow – Orlando on Saturdays returns to the UK as VS76 Orlando – Manchester with the VS75 Manchester – Orlando aircraft operating the VS72 Orlando – Glasgow. Thus Glasgow sees both leisure Airbus A330-300s, G-VKSS and G-VSXY, each weekend.

G-VSXY Positions to Glasgow for first 2012 VS71.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY positioned London Gatwick – Glasgow this morning as VS71P before continuing in service as VS71 Glasgow – Orlando. This is the first Glasgow – Orlando flight of the 2012 season.

G-VSXY Positions to Gatwick.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY positioned Manchester – London Gatwick today as VS810P. The aircraft has been out of service at Manchester since arriving on the morning of 14 January as VS76 from Manchester.

G-VSKY Delivered to London Gatwick.

Airbus A330-300 G-VSXY was delivered from Zurich to London Gatwick today following cabin fit out. The aircraft is in 59W/255Y configuration for leisure routes from London Gatwick and Manchester.
