Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operating VS16 Orlando – London Gatwick (depart Orlando 19th December) diverted to Manchester this morning due to London Gatwick being closed due to suspected drone activity. The aircraft then operated today’s scheduled VS77 Manchester – Bridgetown. However the return VS78 operated as a Bridgetown – London Heathrow service VS78A.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VBIG Positioning Flight.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG positioned London Gatwick – Belfast International as VS861P this morning after arriving as VS28 from Orlando. The aircraft then operated VS161 Belfast International – Orlando.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VBIG Operates to Antigua.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operated VS33 London Gatwick – Antigua this morning in place of the usual A330-300 in order to provide extra capacity on the return following Hurricane Irma. However as there is no Boeing 747 crew available at Antigua the aircraft will overnight and return tomorrow morning as VS34A.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VBIG Returns from Las Vegas.

Following the technical issue it encountered on 20th May, Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG positioned Las Vegas – London Gatwick in the early hours of this morning as VS844P. The aircraft has undergone an engine change.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VBIG Returns from Xiamen Maintenance.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG, which has been under maintenance at Xiamen since April 2nd, positioned Xiamen – London Gatwick in the early hours of this morning as VS820P. The aircraft has been reconfigured from 44J/62W/261Y to 14J/66W/375Y.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG positioned London Heathrow – Orlando as VS15P this afternoon following the cancellation of today’s VS15 London Gatwick – Orlando. The aircraft then operated VS16 Orlando – London Gatwick.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operating VS20 San Francisco – London Heathrow (depart San Francisco 20th November) diverted to London Gatwick this afternoon. Passengers were then transferred by road with the aircraft remaining at London Gatwick.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operated a London Heathrow – San Francisco charter as VS9914 this afternoon for the San Francisco 49ers NFL team following their victory at Wembley yesterday. The aircraft then positioned San Francisco – London Heathrow as VS914P.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VBIG VS2 London Gatwick Diversion.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operating VS2 Newark – London Heathrow (depart Newark 23rd May) diverted via London Gatwick this morning due to runway closures at London Heathrow caused by the emergency landing of British Airways A319 G-EUOE.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operated a London Heathrow – Boston charter this morning as VS9966 for the New England Patriots American Football team following their 45-7 crushing of the St Louis Rams at Wembley yesterday.

B747-400 G-VBIG Operates Delayed VS1.

Following its return to London Heathrow yesterday when it was unable to retract its landing gear Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operated yesterday’s delayed VS1 London Heathrow – Newark this afternoon as VS1A. Due to no crew having arrived at Newark yesterday the aircraft will operate Newark – London Heathrow as VS2A tomorrow morning.

B747-400 G-VBIG VS1 Heathrow Return.

Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operating VS1 London Heathrow – Newark was unable to retract gear after take off from Heathrow. The climb was abandoned at around 5,000ft close to Reading and the aircraft turned south to burn fuel off the South Coast close to Worthing and before returning to London Heathrow. The flight and the return VS2 were subsequently cancelled.

747-400 G-VBIG Returns from New York JFK.

Following yesterday’s technical issue Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG operated yesterday’s delayed VS46 New York JFK – London Heathrow this evening as VS46A.

Boeing 747-400 G-VBIG JFK Technical Issue.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG arrived into New York JFK as VS45 from London Heathrow today however the return VS46 has been delayed overnight indicating a technical issue with the aircraft.

G-VBIG VS601 Delay.

Tonight’s VS601 London Heathrow – Johannesburg will be operated tomorrow morning as a day flight using callsign VS601A. The flight will be operated by Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG.

G-VBIG to Heathrow.

Boeing 747-4Q8 G-VBIG positioned London Gatwick – London Heathrow this evening as VS807P and immediately took up service as VS601 London Heathrow – Johannesburg.
