Virgin Atlantic B787-9 G-VSPY Delivered.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 787-9 G-VSPY  was delivered Charleston – London Heathrow this evening as VS827P. The aircraft is in 31J/35W/198Y configuration and Billboard livery and is named “Miss Moneypenny”. This brings the Virgin Atlantic B787-9 fleet up to eight aircraft.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQG QF9 Muscat Diversion.

QANTAS A380 VH-OQG operating the Melbourne – Dubai sector of QF9 Melbourne – Dubai – London Heathrow (depart Melbourne 26th September) diverted via Muscat this morning due to long hold times at Dubai.

Virgin Atlantic B747-400 G-VROY Positioning Flight.

Virgin Atlantic Boeing 747-443 G-VROY  positioned Belfast International – Glasgow as VS162P this morning after arriving as VS162 from Orlando. The aircraft then operated VS71 Glasgow – Orlando.

Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV Positioning Flight.

Following its diversion last night, Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV positioned Edinburgh – Aberdeen as VS871 this morning then returned to service operating VS3022 Aberdeen – London Heathrow.

Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV Returns from Dublin Maintenance.

Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV, which has been under maintenance at Dublin since February 10th, positioned Dublin – London Heathrow as EI980 this morning and will return to service with Virgin Atlantic Little Red.

Virgin Atlantic Routes Revolution.

As part of its association with Delta Virgin Atlantic today announced the following route amendments:

London Heathrow – Vancouver will end for the Northern Summer season on 14th October 2014 and will not return.

London Heathrow – Mumbai will be discontinued after 1st February 2015.

London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita will be discontinued after 1st February 2015.

London Heathrow – Cape Town will end for the Northern Winter season on 27th April 2015 and will not return.

Virgin Atlantic will be replaced by Delta on one daily London Heathrow – Newark rotation.

Virgin Atlantic will replace Delta on one daily Manchester – Atlanta rotation.

In their place Virgin Atlantic will launch services on the London Heathrow – Detroit and Manchester – New York JFK routes and increase frequencies on the London Heathrow – Los Angeles and London Heathrow – New York JFK routes. The airline will also add a additional London Heathrow – Atlanta service during the Northern Summer, an additional London Heathrow – Miami service during the Northern Winter and an additional 5 x weekly London Heathrow – San Francisco rotation during the Northern Summer.

Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV VS3008 Edinburgh Technical Return.

Aer Lingus A320 EI-EZV operating Virgin Atlantic Little Red service VS3008 Edinburgh – London Heathrow stopped the climb at 5,000 ft this afternoon due to cabin pressurisation problems and returned to Edinburgh for a safe landing.

Withdrawn A340-600 G-VGOA Positions to London Gatwick.

Withdrawn Virgin Atlantic A340-600 G-VGOA, which has been at Air Livery in Manchester since 7th August, positioned Manchester – London Gatwick this afternoon as VS810P routing via the north Devon/Cornwall coast where it performed circuits at up to 41,000 ft. The aircraft has been repainted into plain white livery.
