Virgin Atlantic today announced that it will run a twice weekly London Heathrow – Bridgetown A330-300 service to operate between 12th December 2017 and 24th February 2018. Schedules are as follows:

The flights are part sold to a cruise company.
Virgin Atlantic today announced that it will operate a third daily London Heathrow – Los Angeles Boeing 787-9 service from 1st May – 28th October 2017. Schedules are as follows:

To the surprise of nobody, Virgin Atlantic today announced that it will cease its Aer Lingus operated Little Red UK Domestic operations next year. The London Heathrow – Manchester route will cease after 28th March 2015 and the London Heathrow – Aberdeen and London Heathrow – Edinburgh routes will cease after 26th September 2015.
The London Heathrow slots for the Manchester service belong to Virgin Atlantic and can be re-allocated as Virgin Atlantic wish. The London Heathrow slots for the Aberdeen and Edinburgh services were remedy slots relating to British Airways takeover of bmi and will revert to British Airways.
Virgin Atlantic today announced that the VS300/VS301 London Heathrow – Delhi rotation will switch from A330-200 to Boeing 787-9 operation from 29th March 2015.

As part of its association with Delta Virgin Atlantic today announced the following route amendments:
London Heathrow – Vancouver will end for the Northern Summer season on 14th October 2014 and will not return.
London Heathrow – Mumbai will be discontinued after 1st February 2015.
London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita will be discontinued after 1st February 2015.
London Heathrow – Cape Town will end for the Northern Winter season on 27th April 2015 and will not return.
Virgin Atlantic will be replaced by Delta on one daily London Heathrow – Newark rotation.
Virgin Atlantic will replace Delta on one daily Manchester – Atlanta rotation.
In their place Virgin Atlantic will launch services on the London Heathrow – Detroit and Manchester – New York JFK routes and increase frequencies on the London Heathrow – Los Angeles and London Heathrow – New York JFK routes. The airline will also add a additional London Heathrow – Atlanta service during the Northern Summer, an additional London Heathrow – Miami service during the Northern Winter and an additional 5 x weekly London Heathrow – San Francisco rotation during the Northern Summer.
Virgin Atlantic today announced a series of four return Glasgow – Las Vegas services to commence on September 10th 2015. The flights will be operated by Boeing 747-400s from the Gatwick fleet.
Virgin Atlantic today announced a series of four Belfast International – Orlando return flights to commence on 25th June 2015. The flights will be operated by Boeing 747-400s from the London Gatwick fleet.
Virgin Atlantic celebrated the 30th Anniversary of its inaugural service today by announcing that it will introduce the B787-9 Dreamliner into service on the London Heathrow – Boston route from 28th October 2014. The new aircraft will be configured 31J/35W/198Y.
As part of the Virgin Atlantic/Delta trans-Atlantic joint venture from October 26th Virgin Atlantic will reduce service on the London Heathrow – Los Angeles route to a single daily rotation with Delta adding a B767-300ER service on the r0ute. From the same date Delta will reduced its London Heathrow – Atlanta service from 3 x daily to 2 x daily with Virgin Atlantic adding a new A330-300 service to the following schedule:

Virgin Atlantic today ann0unced that it will drop its VS200/VS201 London Heathrow – Hong Kong – Sydney service with effect from 3rd May 2014, with the last departure from Sydney on 5th May 2014. The flight will subsequently become a London Heathrow – Hong Kong rotation.
It was today announced that Japan has made 14 x weekly daytime slots available at Tokyo Haneda for UK airlines from the beginning of the Summer 2014 timetable. It therefore seems likely that the long standing Virgin Atlantic London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita service will switch to Tokyo Haneda.
Virgin Atlantic today announced that it is to end its five times weekly London Heathrow – Accra VS657/VS658 service with the final rotation operating outbound from London on 20th September 2013.
Virgin Atlantic along with Delta, Alitalia, Air France and KLM filed with the US Department of Transport today for Virgin Atlantic to join their combined Europe – North America Joint Venture Alliance.
It has been confirmed today that Aer Lingus will provide a wet lease to Virgin Atlantic for the 3 x Daily Manchester, 3 x Daily Aberdeen and 6 x Daily Edinburgh services to be launched from London Heathrow next March and April. Staff are expected to be transferred from Aer Lingus’ current London Gatwick operation. There will be dedicated aircraft for the services which will be painted in Virgin Atlantic livery.
Virgin Atlantic has secured all twelve of the London Heathrow slots available following the British Airways takeover of bmi . The airline intends to use these to launch services from London Heathrow to Edinburgh and Aberdeen from 31st March 2013 using leased A319 and A320 aircraft. Schedules are expected to be released within 14 days.
The 14 weekly former bmi London – Moscow traffic rights were today awarded to easyJet for a new London Gatwick – Moscow service. Virgin Atlantic had applied for the rights to operate 14 weekly London Heathrow – Moscow Domodedovo Airbus A330-300 services.
Virgin Atlantic today indicated that from the Summer 2014 timetable they will switch their London Heathrow – Tokyo Narita service to Tokyo Haneda. A new Air Services Agreement signed between the UK and Japanese governments will make slots at Haneda available during the daytime for services to the UK.
Virgin Atlantic has confirmed its intention to commence a three times daily London Heathrow – Manchester service from March 2013. The service will be operated by a leased Airbus A319 which has already been sourced. Slots at London Heathrow will come from Virgin Atlantic’s existing portfolio. Virgin Atlantic today uploaded GDS systems with additional Three Class Airbus A330-300 flights to commence with the Summer 2013 timetable on 31st March.
The VS21/VS22 London Heathrow – Washington service will see daily A330-300 operation whilst the VS657/VS658 London Heathrow – Accra service will see A330-300 operation five times weekly.
Virgin Atlantic today removed its VS671/VS672 Airbus A340-300 London Heathrow – Nairobi service from GDS systems after September 23rd 2012. The service commenced on 1st June 2007.
Virgin Atlantic today announced that from October 28th 2012 it will resume its fourth daily London Heathrow – New York JFK service.
The VS25/VS26 rotation will operate as an evening service from London Heathrow and a daytime service from New York JFK.

Virgin Atlantic today announced the resumption of services on the London Heathrow – Mumbai route. The resumed service will commence on 28 October 2012 and operate daily with the following schedule:

Flights will operate with Three Class Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Virgin Atlantic today announced an increase in frequency on the London Heathrow – Accra route which will increase from three to five services a week from 25th March 2012. The new services will operate under the existing VS657/VS658 flight numbers and will depart London Heathrow on Mondays and Tuesday. All flights are operated by Airbus A340-300s.
With Airbus A340-600s G-VSHY, G-VOGE, G-VMEG and G-VFOX leaving the fleet prior to the commencement of the Winter 2012 timetable on October 28 the following operational changes will occur from that date:
VS1/VS2 London Heathrow – Newark becomes a Boeing 747-400 service.
VS3/VS4 London Heathrow – New York JFK becomes an Airbus A340-300 service.
VS9/VS10 London Heathrow – New York JFK becomes an Airbus A340-300 service.
VS11/VS12 London Heathrow – Boston becomes exclusively an Airbus A340-300 route.
VS23/VS24 London Heathrow – Los Angeles switches from Airbus A340-600 to Airbus A340-300 effective 16 December.
